DAS Donations

DAS Giving Tops $100,000!

For over 40 years the Detroit Area Steelheaders, Inc  has contributed to numerous worthwhile causes which we believe serve our stated organizational goal of promoting and protecting Great Lakes sportfishing.  Thanks to our members and contributors who have helped us raise funds to make these donations.

The following list of donations made in recent years may overlook some, but the overall impact is that the Detroit Area Steelheaders give!

Donations Page: 


  • November, 2017 - $1000.  To Support the Great Lakes Salmon Initiative and help their participation in the Lake Michigan Citizen's Fishery Advisory Committee meetings .
  • September, 2017 - $500.  For Support of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC).
  • July, November 2017 - $2650.  To fund & increase the (3) $1000 Fishery-related Scholarships at Lake Superior State University to (3) $1500 Scholarships for the next 3 years.
  • June, 2017 - $500.  To help fund the Farmington Optimist’s Breakfast Club Project F-I-S-H program.
  • May, 2017 - $500.  To Shelby Township Parks & Recreation for their kids fishing derby.
  • April, 2017 - $1000.  To the Michigan DNR’s Salmon Ambassadors Program.
  • February, May, June 2017 - $1500.  To fund our own Special People fishing outing.
  • February, 2017 - $1000.  To the Youth Development Commission for their 2017 Detroit Area Kids Fishing Derby.
  • February, 2017 - $297.  To the Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts of America.
  • January, February, April, October, December 2017 - $2150.  To continue funding Salmon in the Classroom projects at Oakland Christian K-12, Pine Knob Elementary & Kennedy Middle schools and fund a new Salmon in the Classroom project at Divine Child school.
