Just wanted to post the outcome of our first meeting. A lot of good discussion but the main points and focus of course was on stocking and the Zonal management.
The Zonal Management concept was reviewed. Turning Point polling indicated that 50% really liked it, 25% liked it, and 25% thought it was ok. Additional options will be forth coming.
On November 8th, 2017, a news article will be released announcing the public comment period for the Draft Lake Michigan Fishery Management Plan and to seek feedback on potential stocking options for Lake Michigan.
The Draft Lake Michigan Management Plan can be viewed and feedback can be provided through a web site hosted by Michigan Sea Grant at:

Three public meetings have been set for the end of November:
· November 28th, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM, Comfort Inn Conference Room, 617 E. Lake Shore Dr., Manistique, MI 49854
· November 29th, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM, Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road, Traverse City, MI 49685
· November 30th, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM, Loutit District Library, 407 Columbus Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417
Also, the Natural Resources Commission will receive an update on these topics at their November 9th commission meeting.
