The Manistee Tournament was a great sucess do to the great turnout we had, 14 D.A.S. members show up for a day of fishing on the pier. The fishing was slow on Saturday compared to normal years in November. My quess is the lake water was still to warm for the fish to come in looking for food. There was a total of nine fish caught by all, and maybe 12 bites. The Lakeshore Tournament started at 6;00 am till 4;00 pm, we also was fishing against Metro-West steelheaders. Our fishing club took honors once again. The following week Michaels of Ludington had a steelhead tournament, this tournament, starts at 12 midnite till 4;00 pm, a long time to fish . The D. A. S. had 9 members show up for this tournament, fishing started out reel slow and lasted that way all day A total of 10 fish were caught thru out the tournament. I did not get a bite thinking my fresh Coho spawn was no good. Don Jasman caught a nice fish taking 3rd place. The next morning the D.A.S. group went out around 6am and ended up catching and releasing 9 steelhead in 4hrs, so it was not my fresh Coho spawn, because I ended up catching 5 of those 9 steelhead.
