2017 Lake Erie Perch Outing

Postby Last Dime » Sun Aug 20, 2017 2:00 pm

Saturday, September 23rd is our next Angler of the Year Outing. We will be fishing out of the Sterling State Park boat launch in Monroe. Take exit 15 on I-75. You can start fishing any time in the morning. You can fish anywhere on Lake Erie as long as you launch at the State park. Weigh in will be 1PM next to the boat launch on the grass. The 5 biggest fish per person will be counted. Participants are re-quired to call or text Gaspare Aragona 248 330 1774 with the boat name and number of people on the boat. Please check our Facebook page and the website message board for any cancellation due to the weather. It would be posted on Friday, Sept. 22nd.

Just a reminder that I-75 South is closed at Detroit for construction. Please use alternate route to Sterling State Park.
If you are planning on fishing this outing, please remember to use Jeff's Bait Shop as he generously donated bait for the Special People Outing.

Hello steel headers , You will need to bring your own chair to the Sterling park outing if you want to sit and eat . Don Jazmen told me that the ramp getting out of the water gets very backed up with boats . You probably need to leave the water a bit early to get to the 1 pm weigh in .

Hello Steel headers it's been brought to my attention that Sterling state park has an hour or more wait to launch in the morning . Paul Geldjum has said Bolles DNR launch ext 11 is better launch . Its about 4 more miles on 75 . If you read this could you please give me your thoughts ? and pass the idea around . I need help to make a call on this with the weigh in being at Sterling park .

Gaspare and members

This is the peak of the perch run in Michigan waters.

Every year the ramps are packed with enthusiastic anglers, looking for that Erie gold.

lets go as planned and make the best of it.

Looks like jeffs is open at 5. lets plan to launch early and claim our spot on the water.
