The Detroit Area Steelheaders (DAS) is a non-profit fishing club serving Michigan for over 45 years. We are dedicated to the protection and promotion of trout, salmon and other fisheries in the Great Lakes region. Following are some more reasons why fishermen all over the state are joining the Detroit Area Steelheaders Inc.:

• The DAS provides you with a means of being heard on issues affecting our fisheries.
• You receive 12 monthly digital issues (.pdf) of the FISHIN' TALES newsletter, among the finest club newsletter published anywhere.
• Organized TOURNAMENTS and OUTINGS all year long held all over the state.
• Social events such as the annual WILD GAME DINNER, our primary fundraiser, as well as a special Christmas meeting with "Salmon" Claus for the kids.
•  DONATIONS to Universities for research on fisheries and donations to various sportfishing organizations that are also focused on the betterment of the Great Lakes Sportfishery. As of January 2020, more than $131,000 has been donated to a variety of conservation and fishery related causes.
• Our ever-growing web site keeping you up to date on club activities, posting your photos and keeping you informed through our MESSAGE BOARD and much more.
• We have many exciting guest speakers lined up for upcoming meetings including representatives of the Michigan DNR, Fisheries Biologists and Charter Captains, all who give us timely information and share their passions, as well as their areas of expertise. • Share camaraderie with your fellow members at CLUB 54 37722 Van Dyke Ave. Sterling Heights, MI 48312 . Our meetings are on the last Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise announced in the media and on the web site) and start at 7:30 in the evening.
