The Detroit Area Steelheaders (DAS), a non-profit fishing club serving Michigan for over 45 years.
We are dedicated to the protection and promotion of trout, salmon and other fisheries in the Great Lakes region. Following are more reasons why fishermen all over the state are joining the DAS :
- The DAS provides you with a means of being heard on issues affecting our fisheries.

- DONATIONS to Universities for research on fisheries and donations to various sportfishing organizations that are also focused on the betterment of the Great Lakes Sportfishery. As of January 2023, more than $131,000 has been donated to a variety of conservation and fishery related causes.
- We have many exciting guest speakers lined up for upcoming meetings including representatives of the Michigan DNR, Fisheries Biologists and Charter Captains, all who give us timely information and share their passions, as well as their areas of expertise.
